Gunhild was an honest, kind & generous aunty who thought of us when we had nothing. Making up a big box of Christmas presents for a family of 13 took a lot of money & time but it made our day. What fun we had opening those presents! She was, however, also a realist. Once Bent, seeing my love of horses, promised me a black horse. I thought he was joking. Apparently he wasn't. Years later she presented me with a stack of much needed beautiful clothes which she said was in leu of the horse. It wasn't the money she knew our family could not afford to feed a horse & she was right. Years later my kids & I took in a poor rescue pony that turned into the Black Beauty of my dreams with a long thick black mane. My daughter still has her & she reminds me of Gunhild & how God loves to fulfil dreams. Gunhild's was her garden & how God blessed her hard work. It truly was a little paradise for us when we visited. I hope she is now enjoying paradise above free from all pain & sorrow. Bless her 'lads'!
