Donations made via afdøde.dk

Donations may only be set up and made to organisations that hold a valid authorisation from the Danish Fundraising Board.

In connection with donations made to one of the charitable organisations or associations, we process the following ordinary personal data in order to issue a receipt for the donation and process the payment:

  • First name and surname
  • E-mail address
  • Payment details
  • Time of payment
  • Donation amount

The funds collected are transferred to the organisations without deduction monthly, quarterly or as otherwise agreed. The organisations pay an operating contribution equal to five per cent of the funds collected.

Disclosure of personal data

As a general rule, the above information is not disclosed to third parties.
If, as a donor, you have provided your Danish civil registration (CPR) number (confidential personal data) in order to claim tax relief for your donation, the information will be disclosed to the selected charitable organisation or association if that organisation has an agreement with us to this effect.

The information is stored and sent to the selected charitable organisation every three months and is subsequently deleted by hoej.dk A/S after four months. hoej.dk A/S does not process CPR numbers for its own purposes.

Legal basis for processing

  • Section 26 of the Danish Tax Reporting Act, cf. Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Section 26 of the Danish Tax Reporting Act, cf. section 11(2)(1) of the Danish Data Protection Act.

Donations cannot be cancelled. A donation is regarded as a gift, not as the purchase of goods or services. The rules in the Danish Consumer Contracts Act on the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumer contracts concerning goods, services, etc. between a trader and a consumer do not apply to donations.

Advertising

You can order and pay for death notices and acknowledgements for publication on afdøde.dk, as well as in all Danish daily newspapers and most Danish weekly newspapers. Once you have created the advertisement, selected where it is to be published and completed the payment, you will receive a receipt.

Our staff will then review the advertisement for any errors and ensure that it meets the formatting requirements of the selected publication.

Subscription

As a subscriber to afdøde.dk, you have access to information about most deaths announced in Danish newspapers.

Right of withdrawal

Advertisement bookings may be cancelled up to the submission deadline of the relevant daily or weekly newspaper.

However, when you purchase a subscription from us as a consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. The withdrawal period runs from the date on which the agreement was entered into. If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, you must contact us in writing within 14 days by e-mail at fortryd@afdoede.dk

How to withdraw from your purchase

  1. Send us a message by e-mail at fortryd@afdoede.dk, stating that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.
  2. Include the invoice number for the purchase in your e-mail to us.

Refund conditions

If you withdraw within the withdrawal period, we will refund the full amount paid within 14 days. The refund will be made using the same means of payment as you used for the purchase, unless otherwise agreed.
