Hello, this may be very strange for you to receive this message (if you do?), but I just put John's name into Google search and here I am feeling very sorry to have not been able to speak with him again. I worked for John for only a very short time between 1966 and 1968 and just liked him as he was so gently and easy-going. I came back to England to attend university and was lucky to encounter him again when I worked at Lloyd’s Register, London. I can understand how sad you all were on his demise. He was a good man! My best wishes to you all, Alan Shute.
