Dear friend, we always thought that somebody like you will be with us forever. For many years and not countable UN meetings and conferences, your wisdom, wit and humour brought light and laughter to all of us. We regret not keeping up with staying in touch during the last years. But your smile was always on our mind. While we wish that you rest in peace, we assure you that we will miss you. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with your family.

Chers Amis, J'ai passe de super moments avec Kjartan, Jan, Gigja et Tessy, a Sauverny, des barbecues et des balades dans la SaaB 900. Je me rappelle aussi des sortis en bateau a voile au Danemark, de tres bons souvenirs, merci encore. Je pense fort a vous la famille Sorensen.

Cher ami, c'est avec une très grande tristesse que j'ai appris le départ aussi soudain qu'inattendu de ton père. Mes plus sincères condoléances. Il était une très belle personne et un super papa. Je me rapelle avec beaucoup de joie et de nostalgie tous le temps passé ensemble : les weekends chez lui à Sauverny et les étés chez ses parents à Løkken qui ont bercés ma jeunesse et je lui en suit infiniment reconnaissant. Je pense très fort à toi Kjartan et à toute ta famille, Gigja, Gertrud et frères et soeurs et vous envoie beaucoup d'amour et de force. Que son âme repose en paix.

Chers amis, famille, C’est avec beaucoup de tristesse que nous avons appris la disparition de Jan. Nous partageons votre peine. Depuis votre déménagement sur Annecy, Kjartan et Gabriella, nous avions la chance de vous avoir vous, vos enfants et votre famille. C’était à ces moments là une joie d’avoir Jan avec nous. Une donation sera faite au centre de recherche sur le cancer du Danemark en sa mémoire. Très cher Jan, je suis heureux d'avoir fait ta connaissance il y a 25 ans à New-York et puis au fil des années, dans le nord du Danemark, à Rabat, à Kørsør et puis à Ålsgårde. Merci pour ta gentillesse et ton intelligence.

Jan, du är mycket saknad och det är med stor sorg vi inte kommer att kunna ses igen, men du kommer alltid vara ihågkommen. Du var en så glad, generös och ödmjuk vän, med leendet alltid närvarande. Vi delade ett gemensamt liv, svårigheter och glädjetillfällen under långa uppehåll, men med täta kontakter på senare år, sedan vi träffades i Genève över fyrtio år tillbaka. Vila i frid, Jan .
